Is it really 2012?
Realizing the beginning of a new year forces me to look back at what happened throughout 2011. I like lists so here we go:
1. Jeannie became a permanent resident and finally we can rest assured that we can legally reside in the same country without fear of separation. This was one of the biggest moments for us in 2011.
2. I was accepted to Grad school, something I've always had on my list of life goals and it's really happening!
3. Jeannie and I made some serious decisions and plans with regards to family planning and our future.
4. Jeannie started working in Canada! Which was so weird to us at first but is amazing.
5. I hit all of my professional work goals that I set for myself and then some.
6. We made a dozen trips to Bangor and Portland, ME and one very long trip over to Ontario along with a handful of trips to Halifax. We spent and abundance of quality time with some of our favourite people and our beloved families.
7. I lost my Grandfather. Something I still get very emotional about. I was able to spend some very special last moments with him with my wife and mom by my side which is also one of the most cherished moments of 2011 that I'll never forget.
8. I fell in love with my wife all over again. We celebrated our third wedding anniversary, and I see new things I love about her all the time!
9. I stood up with one of my best friends while she married her best friend!
10. We celebrated the amazing news with a few close friends expecting wee one's in 2012.
11. I realized some of my best friends are my immediate family.
12. We met some amazing new friends in Maine and in Saint John!
I cannot believe 2011 is over and we are already on to a new year but everything I love and adore is moving forward with me in one way or another and the adventure continues. That saying "live life to the fullest" I feel if you have things you want to accomplish, things you want for yourself and for your family.... there is nothing that can hold you back. You can always find a way. Nothing comes without struggle in some way or another but I honestly believe that if you fight for what you want, for what you believe in that amazing things will happen. And as a person of faith I feel that prayer along the way will give you the guidance and patience to see through it all.
Happy New Year Everyone, here's to an amazing 2012.

In 2012 may you exceed your goals in whatever you do.
May you always know how much you are loved, and how proud we are of you.
xxoo
I lost my grandmother very early in the year and it cast a pall over the year for me.
My main goal for this year is to really make some radical changes in a lot of different areas of my life, even if it scares the crap out of me.
Here's to an amazing and productive year ahead of us!
